Privacy Policy — MemeCoop

Data we collect

Account: name, email address and profile photo obtained from Google Sign-In or from registering with an email and password.
Profile: username (tag) and the avatar frame you choose.
Content: memes you create (image + text), votes you cast and chat messages within your group.
Activity: scores, streaks, achievements and leaderboard position.
Advertising: the device's advertising ID (Google Advertising ID), approximate IP address and ad interactions, handled by Google AdMob.
Analytics (optional): aggregated usage data to improve the app, only if you accept this processing on the consent screen.
Technical: session identifiers and tokens needed for the service to work.
Device identifier (SSAID): if you use the referral program, we temporarily store your Android device's unique identifier (SSAID — Android Settings Secure Android ID) to prevent the same person from getting referral credit on several different accounts from the same device. This identifier is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties.
Referral graph: if someone invited you to MemeCoop with a referral code, we store the relationship between the inviter and you (who invited whom) in our database to calculate the program's rewards. This information is only used internally for fraud detection and reward management.

How we use your data

To show your profile, stats and leaderboard position within your group.
To store the memes you create and show them to the members of your group.
To run the system of rounds, voting and seasons.
To send you local notifications when a round opens (only if you turn them on).
To show ads through Google AdMob to fund the free service.
To personalize ads based on your advertising ID (only if you give your consent).
To detect fraudulent use or use that breaches the terms of use.
To improve the app through aggregated usage analysis (only with your consent).

Advertising

MemeCoop shows ads through Google AdMob so that it can offer the service for free.

What data does AdMob use?

The device's advertising ID (Google Advertising ID on Android).
Approximate IP address to determine your country/region.
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks).

Consent: the first time you open the app we ask for your consent to personalized ads through Google's UMP (User Messaging Platform) form. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy preferences.

Without consent: if you decline personalization, you will still see non-personalized contextual ads.

No ads: if you buy any paid meme pack, ads are removed permanently for your account.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data to third parties. We use the following Google services as infrastructure:

Firebase Authentication: sign-in management.
Firebase Firestore: the database where profiles, memes and groups are stored.
Firebase Storage: storage of meme images.
Firebase Analytics: aggregated usage analysis (only with your consent).
Firebase App Check: protection against unauthorized access to our services.
Firebase Crashlytics: logging of anonymous technical errors to improve the app's stability.
Google AdMob: advertising platform that may use your device's advertising ID to show ads. You can turn off personalization in Settings > Google > Ads on your device.
Google Play Billing: processing of in-app payments.

The device SSAID is stored in our own database (Firebase Firestore) solely for the referral program and is not transmitted to third parties.

In-app purchases

MemeCoop offers optional paid meme template packs through Google Play.

Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not store or have access to your payment data.
When you buy a pack, you get permanent access to its templates on your account.
Buying any pack removes ads permanently.
Purchased items are tied to your Google account and are not transferable.
To request a refund, follow Google Play's standard process.

How long we keep your data

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

Your Firebase Auth account is deleted immediately.
Your profile data in Firestore is marked as deleted within 24 hours.
The memes you created remain in the group without your name attached (they appear as "Deleted user").

You can request the complete deletion of all your data by writing to us at dnck.dev@gmail.com.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you live in the European Union, you have the following rights:

Access: you can ask us what data we hold about you.
Rectification: you can correct inaccurate data from the app's settings.
Erasure: you can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account.
Portability: you can request a copy of your data by email.
Objection: you can turn off analytics and ad personalization at any time from Settings > Privacy preferences.
Withdrawal of consent: you can withdraw your consent to personalized ads at any time without affecting your use of the app.
